Elias happily spooned the delicious tomato soup, while his parents watched him with smiles. After dinner, Elias wiped his mouth and jumped up from his chair.

“Can I go to the window?” he asked.

“Of course,” his mother replied. Elias ran to the window and looked out curiously into the night. The bright moon shone radiantly in the dark sky.

“What is that big, bright ball in the sky?” Elias asked, looking at his father.

His father stood up, turned off the lights inside, and went over to Elias. He carefully picked up the little boy.

“This is the Moon, Elias,” his father explained, pointing to the Moon. “The Earth’s only moon. Do you see how beautiful and bright it is?”

Elias stared at the Moon. The silvery light of the Moon filled the room and drew sparkling streaks of light on the floor.

“It’s so big!” Elias whispered.

“Yes, it’s huge,” his father nodded. “It’s even bigger than that, but it’s very far away from the Earth where we live, that’s why it looks so big.”

Elias thought about his father’s words. “How did the Moon get there?” he asked.

His father smiled. “The Moon and the Earth were once made of the same material. Then somehow they separated from each other and the Moon started orbiting the Earth.”

Elias had never heard anything like it. He listened curiously to his father’s story about the Moon, the craters, the seas and the mountains. His father told him that humans have been exploring the Moon for a long time and that astronauts have even been there. Elias was enchanted by the stories. In the light of the Moon, he began to dream of astronauts, moon adventures and magical stargazing.

When they finished dinner, Elias could hardly wait to tell his mother all about the Moon. His mother bathed Elias and put him to bed in the soft, warm bed. Elias was still dreaming of the Moon. His father stood by his bed and gently stroked his hair.

“Good night, Elias,” he whispered. “Dream beautiful moonlit dreams!”

Elias closed his eyes and fell asleep. However, something strange happened that night. Instead of falling asleep, he noticed that his room was bathed in a dim light. The light grew stronger and Elias saw in amazement that a tiny creature emerged from the light.

The creature had sparkling wings like a butterfly and its hair was made of silver stars. Elias recognized it: it was Starlight, the dream elf! But how did he get here? Elias looked around and noticed that a small, secret door had opened in the corner of the room, next to his teddy bear. Starlight walked out from there, smiling at the little boy.

“Good evening, Elias,” the elf greeted. “I’ve come to take you on a magical journey to the stars.”

Elias’ heart was filled with joy. “It’s incredible, we just talked about the moon and the stars with my dad today, and here you come.” The little boy said in surprise.

“Maybe it’s not a coincidence, who knows? Are you ready? Shall we go?” Starlight asked.

Elias nodded and the elf held out his hand. Elias took Starlight’s hand and in an instant they disappeared from the room to embark on a magical adventure among the stars.

They first headed towards the Moon. As they approached, Elias could see the surface covered in holes more and more clearly.

“You know, Elias,” Starlight whispered, “the Moon is not a big cheese cake in the sky, like some people think!” Elias chuckled.

“The Moon is more like a huge gray ball, full of bumps and holes,” Starlight continued. “The bumps are huge mountains, like the ones on Earth! The holes, which we call craters, were made by meteors, like shooting stars, only much bigger.”

Elias’ eyes widened. “Can I jump on the Moon like a trampoline?”

Starlight laughed. “Hehehe, not quite. The Moon has no air and is not as big as the Earth, so you can’t jump there like on a trampoline. But the surface is full of small pieces of rock that are like the pebbles on the beach. You could even collect a whole bag of them!”

“And where does the Moon go when it’s daytime?” Elias asked in amazement.

Starlight smiled and stroked Elias’ soft hair. “The Moon doesn’t go anywhere, little traveler! It’s always there, orbiting the Earth, day and night. We just can’t see it during the day because the Sun’s light is much stronger on Earth and the Moon’s light fades.”

“The Moon is the Earth’s best friend at night.” Starlight continued. “When the Sun goes down, the Moon comes out and shines on the Earth with reflected sunlight. It’s like a big lamp in the sky!”

Elias nodded. The Moon didn’t seem so mysterious or distant anymore. Now he knew it was a gray, bumpy ball full of small pebbles, and it helped the Earth light up at night.

At the end of the journey, Elias returned to Earth tired but happy. Starlight waved goodbye and Elias fell into a deep sleep. The next morning, Elias woke up and remembered the magical journey. He knew he would never forget the silvery light of the Moon and the sparkle of the stars. His heart was filled with joy and gratitude to Starlight for taking him on a fairytale adventure among the stars.

On this day, Elias learned not only about the stars and the Moon, but also about courage, curiosity, and openness. He learned that the world is full of wonders and that with the help of our imagination, we can achieve anything.
